Howard's goal in photographing Seattle and the Pacific Northwest is to capture the beauty of this unique region of our country. It's true that it rains in Seattle for days on end, but when the sun finally breaks though the clouds Seattle becomes glorious, and Howard has the photographs to prove it. Howard's last project was for the Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau and Weaver Multimedia Group. He was chosen as the photographer for their 2011 edition of the Seattle Official Visitors Guide. The guide is published bi-annually with a print run of 350,000 copies. The guides are distributed free of charge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and various hotels and tourist attractions throughout Seattle. Howard also recently completed a project for the well known guidebook publisher, Frommer's. They chose Howard to be the photographer for their Seattle Day by Day guidebook, published in December 2008. In the spring of 2008, Frommer's gave Howard a list of over 200 "top priority" locations to be photographed, in five weeks. The deadline was met, and Frommers was very pleased with the results. For those of you who have seen the New Line Cinema's motion picture The Last Mimzy, you may recall the final scene opens with the camera zoomed in on a photograph of Mt Rainer. It then zooms back and you realize it is a photograph hanging on a wall in an elementary school classroom. This was a photographs from Howard's extensive stock photo library of Mt. Rainier pictures. Howard is available for freelance photography. To learn more visit HowardFriskPhotography.com.
